   PA SHRM State Council awarded the 2019 SHRM Platinum Excel Award!

The PA State Council is honored to have received the 2019 Platinum Level Excel Award. The SHRM Excel Award recognizes outstanding achievements in state council operations and a commitment to providing meaningful programs and services to HR professionals in their state. It also is recognition of continued growth and development of state councils as business leaders, capable of developing strategies that lead to business success.
 
So much of SHRM’s impact on the world of work can be traced back to the dedication and hard work of our chapters and state councils like PA SHRM State Council. These leaders took the initiative and drove changes to make workplaces where employers and employees can thrive together,'' said Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., SHRM-SCP, president and chief executive officer of SHRM. "The Platinum EXCEL Award is not only a celebration of the great work done by PA SHRM State Council — it’s also a recognition of the grit it took to do it."

The PA State Council focused in 4 specific areas in 2019 to be awarded this distinguished designation. These areas included:


Enhancing the SHRM Community – Membership Initiative
Promoted SHRM Membership and Chapter Membership at L&L Conference and State Conference. Created a marketing brochure for the all 26 Chapters in the State of PA to promote to HR Professionals in their local area through meetings, community events, and other outreach opportunities. Provided a platform at State Conference for SHRM Representatives to promote SHRM and recognize SHRM and local SHRM Chapter members in attendance. In addition, we provided special recognition to SHRM and Local Chapter members at State Conferences and provide easy access to SHRM and Chapter membership registration.

Advancing the HR Profession – Legislative Initiative
The PA State Council held a one-day L&L Conference with over 450 HR professional in attendance. The jam-packed agenda featured Keynote Speaker Emily M Dickens presenting on Better Workplace, Better World: SHRM 2019 Priorities, Labor Law updates from the local, state, and federal level, and a What would you do? Active Shooter Training Simulation.

Serving the HR Professional – SHRM Foundation Initiative
Increase SHRM Foundation Contributions and have 100% Chapter participation. This goal is strategic as it offers a platform for HR Professionals to utilize resources to enhance their personal and professional growth as an HR practitioner.

Serving the HR Professional
The PA State Council provided a one-day conference brining in a marketing expert to educate our chapter leaders on Marketing techniques that will assist them with membership growth, marketing chapter events, enhancing chapter websites, and social media platforms.
